Oh, THIS is Economics!
The following quotations come form the "Price Control and Dissipation of Rent" Economics notes.
...Moreover, the person who pays the price must have contributed something
of equal value to society before he or she could get the money to buy the
good.
Thus, the use of price as a competitive criterion rewards those who have
provided valuable service to the society.
Allocation by a price system is determined by one's productivity. The more
productive individuals will command over more real goods and services.
...Waiting only serves to allocate goods and services among different
individuals but waiting does not produce anything valuable to the society.
The valuable time spent in waiting is dissipated. Time is a valuable
resource and it has alternative uses. We could put the time for waiting into
productive uses. Waiting in line therefore results in rent dissipation.
Something came across my mind...
It has JUST begun.
